Athens Stock Exchange opening: Rally

Equity prices were rising on on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) on Monday. The basic share price index was up 5.00 percent, standing at 768.61 points at 11.00 and turnover at 35.83 million euros.

The FTSE/ASE Large Cap index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 4.56 percent and the FTSE/ASE Mid Cap index was up 3.55 percent.

Individual sector indices were moving mostly upwards with the biggest gains in Banks (+10.80 percent) and in Financial Services (+7.15).

Of the stocks traded, 65 were up, 5 were down and 18 were unchanged.
