PM Tsipras has asked for suspension of all public-sector staff transfers, sources say

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has contacted Parliament President Nikos Voutsis and asked for the suspension of all transfers of staff between different public-sector services, including transfers to parliament, government sources said on Thursday. According to the same sources, the prime minister made the decision to stop main opposition New Democracy exploiting the otherwise "wholly legal, transparent and with cross-party consensus" transfers in order to "create impression through a crescendo of political opportunism".

During their discussion, the sources added, there was a joint decision and the parliament president proceeded to make relevant statements on this issue.
