Wildfire on Evia: Four villages evacuated - One arrest
Four villages were evacuated while firefighting forces from other regions were called to join forces
The Fire Brigade arrested an individual for the wildfire that broke out in Manikia on Evia on Friday.
Meanwhile, new fire-fronts were reported during the night in the same region (municipality of Kymi-Aliveri). Four villages were evacuated while firefighting forces from other regions were called to join forces.
A strong firefighting operation is currently underway including 98 fire engines with 185-member crew, 60 groups of firemen on foot, 4 firefighting aircrafts and 3 water-dropping helicopters.
