Zappeion Hall media center for journalists up and running

The Press Center at the Zappeion Hall in Athens opened early on Sunday for accredited journalists from Greece and abroad.

Serving journalists, photographers and television crews during the electoral period, the center includes high-speed WiFi, transmission equipment, video wall for screening Greek and European TV stations and interpreters for foreign correspondents.

Visiting the center on Saturday afternoon, Government Spokesman Lefteris Kretsos said that "everything is ready and we are sure things will work out smoothly. The hall for statements by political leaders is also available".

Kretsos said that so far, 320 accreditations had been given out, with a third of those representing 15 countries abroad.
