Financial crimes squad to move to new secretariat for taxes, public assets at FinMin

The financial crimes squad (SDOE) will be abolished and its jurisdiction, staff and agencies under its supervision will be transferred to the new General Secretariat for Taxation Policy and Public Assets, at the Finance Ministry, the government said on Thursday.

According to presidential decree 84/2019, the change in SDOE - a Special Secretariat - is part of the incorporation of existing secretariats into new ministry structures.

The new General Secretariat will include the following former entities, besides SDOE:

• Directorate of Taxation Policy (formerly in the General Secretariat of Finance Policy)
• General Secretariat of Public Assets
• Directorate of Financial Crimes Investigation
