Tax filing deadline today; 150,000 filings outstanding

The deadline for income tax filing ends today, July 29, and authorities have ruled out the possibility of any extensions.

According to official data, as of July 28, over 6 million taxpayers have filed, but 150,000 returns are outstanding.

Taxpayers who file past the deadline will be subject to a fine of 100-500 euros, depending on the type of tax filing.

For people owing taxes, the first installment is due on Wednesday, the second by end September and the third by end November.
