Reduction of primary surpluses will come when new wealth is produced, State Min Gerapetritis says

"The reduction of the agreed primary surpluses will come when we prove that we are changing the mixture of the policy in order for new wealth to be produced and growth to substantially increase. This will happen with the deregulation of the investments' dynamic which remained stagnant for a long period, with the streamlining of the public expenses and the broadening of the tax basis through combating tax evasion" said State Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis in an interview with Ethnos newspaper on Sunday.

Referring to the Greeks Abroad vote, he said that a large number of high qualified persons left the country in the most creative phase of their lives seeking for a better job. "These people never lost their bonds with the country and deeply wish to return and contribute to the country's recovery. They are an integral part of the Greek society with huge interest in the country's political life" said Gerapetritis

Asked if it is feasible for the Greeks to experience a positive change in their lives until the end of 2019, he said "The most encouraging from all the positive fiscal messages and the significant positive interventions in the last month is the huge increase of the Greeks positive opinion in EU's optimism rate. I am also cautiously optimistic that very soon the Greek citizens will see a substantial change in their income, not only through the reduction on taxes and insurance contributions but also through the improvement in the labour conditions and the reduction of state's bureaucracy".
