Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias is in Sofia to hold a series of meetings with the Bulgarian political and state authorities.
Dendias will meet with the President of Bulgaria Roumen Radev and with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov while earlier he will hold talks with his Bulgarian counterpart Ekaterina Zaharieva.
The talks will focus on bilateral and regional matters as well as on issues of international interest with emphasis on the developments in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Greece, said diplomatic sources, is seeking the invigoration of relations with the countries of southeastern Europe, with the aim of promoting growth, stability and prosperity for the peoples of the region. In this context, Dendias will hold a round of meetings with friendly countries such as Bulgaria. The specific visit, said the same sources, is a very good opportunity to lay the foundations for a more substantial and mutually beneficial collaboration.
