Greece announces first state subsidy offer for mortgage loan

The Greek finance ministry on Wednesday announced the approval of the first state subsidy of the mortgage loan of a debtor who managed to settle his debts through the e-platform for primary residence protection.

The state subsidy will cover 40 pct of a monthly tranche for a mortgage loan worth around 80,000. The borrower met all legal requirements and had applied via the e-platform in July.

A total of 140 applications have been submitted via the e-platform so far, while banks have offered debt settlement proposals to 17 borrowers.
