Plakiotakis: The government has a comprehensive plan on migration

"The government has a comprehensive and complete plan and we are determined to implement it," Shipping and Island Policy Minister Yiannis Plakiotakis stated on Wednesday referring to the migration problem.

He said that the government will continue to talk with local communities, however, he noted that at some point it must reach decisions and this is what it will do as the problem exists and can increase in the following period.

"We must all understand the the migration/refugee problem is of national importance and does not concern only the islands. Obviously, the islanders are the recipients of the heavier pressure and we, and I personally, understand their needs, their demands and their anxiety are justified," he noted.
