The cost of the new social security and pension system lies within the country's financial framework, Finance Minister Christos Staikouras stated on Thursday, opening the third and last day of the parliamentary debate on labour ministry's draft bill entitled "Social security reform and digital transformation of the National Social Security Body (e-EFKA).
He underlined that the new system is fairer and will help boost employment and productivity, while also cultivating social insurance awareness.
The bill is expected to be put to a vote in the evening, after the conclusion of the party leaders' speeches.
